I am a US based 3D animator and filmmaker from Damascus, Syria.

I make independent animated films, commercials and industrial visualization projects. I directed and worked on the 2006 short, Elephants Dream, which was the first open movie project. It established the viability of libre tools in a production environment and set precedent by offering its source data under a permissive license for learning, remixing and re-use. Currently I'm working on another open movie, working title tube, based on the epic of Gilgamesh.

As a commercial artist I have done various advertisements, promotional and industrial visualization videos for industries, including green energy, medical and biotech firms.

Under the sign of the urchin, I'm continuing to pursue a model of production that invests in the commonwealth. I teach, write and lecture around the world on open production and free software technique.
