I am director and VFX supervisor for animated features. I’ve been in the 3D CGI industry for more than 20 years.
During such long time i worked in almost any department, from art to tech, using all the major software packages such maya/3DSmax (modeling, animation, rigging, lighting, shading, rendering), zbrush/sculptris/mudbox (sculpting), nuke (composting) and Final Cut Pro (editing).
In 2012 i decided to switch to blender (a choice i still not regret) and share all the experience done in the industry with its wonderful community.
Since then i attend regularly the annual blender conference in amsterdam where i usually make a presentation showing the latest project i took part and the tools developed in the making.
In the recent years i worked as director, lead animator, VFX supervisor and generalist at MAD Entertaiment on several projects such as:
Research & Development
During the production of the aimated feature “Cinderella the Cat” i have redesigned and upgraded blender’s integrated “Rigify” rigging add-on. Based on the glorious code from Campbell Barton and Nathan Vegdahl, the project was forked as MAD Entertainment's in-house rigging system. After more than 2 years of work the new and upgraded rigify made its way to blender 2.77 master with the name of “Rigify 0.5”. Since then i have constantly been involved in bug tracking, support, design and upgrade of the add-on.
Documentation and Publishing
I have contributed to the development of the Blender online documentation system, releasing and updating the official Rigify wiki.
Talks and Training
I am experienced and available for Blender Training. In the recent years i took part to the following events:
I am also a teacher in several private and public academies. As university tutor with part-time contract i teach blender animation in annual courses such as:
