I'm a Brazilian artst and teacher, very passionate about animation, Blender and open source software. I have two undergraduate courses (Advertising and Graphic Design) and started using Blender back in 2003. I have experience in producing stills and animations for short films and TV ads using both 3D and Digital 2D techniques.
Currently, I'm an Assistant Professor at UFMG (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais), teaching both 3D and Digital 2D animation at the animation program using Blender and other open source software, like the Gimp, Inkscape, MyPaint and Pencil 2D. I'm also part of the animation team for Bassam Kurdali's Tube Project and I have finished my Master's dissertation about 3D character animation, using Blender as the main tool for the research. I'm currently doing my PhD, also researching Blender, free software and open methods of media production.
I've written a book about character rigging and animation with Blender, called Blender 2.5 Character Animation Cookbook, published by Packt Publishing. I give regular lectures and workshops about animation and Blender, mostly in Brazilian events and I also create some video tutorials on my Vimeo page. As a curiosity note, I have also designed the BlenderNation logo. :)
